Lauren Ferraro BFA, MA
Lauren trained as an actor at Ryerson University where she obtained her BFA in Theatre, Performance. She continued her passion for Voice, Speech and Accent work in England where she studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London where she received her Master’s Degree in Voice Studies.
She has worked in various Colleges and Universities including Kingston College and The University of London UK and recently apprenticed with Janine Pearson, Head of Voice at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, teaching Voice for The Ryerson Theatre School, Ryerson University.
Lauren is currently teaching Advanced Speaking and Presentation Technology with the Master Professional Communications Department at Ryerson University and is the head of Speech and Dialects at The George Brown College Theatre School.
Most recently she traveled to NYC to train with Dudley Knight and Phil Thompson exploring new techniques and tools in the world of phonetics and accents bringing world class training to her home base in Toronto. With a Diploma in ESL, Adult Education, Lauren works for various private clients modifying and softening accents for actors, ESL clients and business associates. She is a frequent instructor for job skills workshops and seminars focusing on preparation for job interviews, public speaking and business presentations.
Traveling Toronto and the GTA, Lauren is a frequent speaker for various conferences, cultural events and educational institutions giving lectures and workshops on the Authoritative Voice, vocal Identity and The Lost Art of Speaking, just to name a few.
Lauren is the founding member of the company YOUR VOICE AND YOU which offers personalized Speech, Accent and Presentation workshops; specializing in one-on-one coaching for all artistic, personal and business endeavours.
